Welcome to Survey of Aviation Science. This course is Internet based with learning and participation experiences similar to a traditional classroom. In 35 hours, we will touch the sky; dream along with the inventors of manned flight; debate the strange shapes of birds, aircraft, and rockets; and learn how to learn in the compelling and wide world of aviation and aerospace.

This is a survey course, designed to expose you to as many areas of aviation science as possible in a one-semester class. The course will focus on many areas of aerospace, the field which covers both aviation and space activity. Many of you are taking this course as a general elective to meet a science elective requirement. You will certainly find science in this course, but it is presented with very few formulas and as much practical application as possible.
