The DANTES program of proficiency examinations was originally restricted to members of the military. However it is now open to all civilians. The DANTES examinations are administer by ETS (Educational Testing Service) and you are advised to obtain the latest information from them:

  At this writing the exam fee is $35 plus an additional local administration fee. Exams are given frequently at many locations around the United States and in many foreign countries. UVSC will give credit for good grades on at least some of these exams. You must follow the college policy for experiential credits. Please check with an advisor before taking exams.
